Once you’ve pitched an agent to join Spark, get them contracted, ready-to-sell and writing business. If you’re bringing on an agency, finalize their overrides and request a partnership agreement.
Onboarding Street Level Agents
It’s critical to make a great first impression. Our team has built a streamlined onboarding experience for agents!
- Close the agent: You pitch an agent to join your agency. See
Sourcing
- Start contracting: Whether the agent is new-to-Medicare or transferring their contracts, they complete a contracting link that you can host on your custom recruiting site (see examples below). The contracting link goes to a nicely formatted webform that requests all their information and then auto-completes PDF paperwork carriers typically require for new or transfer contracts. You can view a walkthrough here. It is highly efficient and reduces the back-and-forth with carriers.
- Note: we default to starting the intent-to-transfer process. If agents have releases, they can provide them in the form or send them afterwards to accelerate the transfer time.
- To access your landing page to share with your agent, follow the instructions here.
- Onboard to the platform: Within 3 days of completing the contracting form, Spark will invite the agent to onboard to our Platform. Their carrier contracts and any next steps required (e.g. complete certifications, complete a transfer link) will be viewable directly in their Platform.
- Nudge the agent: You have full visibility of the status of each agent in your agency view “Agents” and “Carrier contracts” tab. Spark will follow up with the agent on a weekly basis via email but it’s best if you reinforce our reminders. See
Ready-to-sell chase
- Get the agent writing: once the agent is ready-to-sell, they’ll automatically receive access to our enrollment capability in Platform. Start helping them sell!
Onboarding Agencies
If you are recruiting an agency to Spark, notify your Account Manager so that we can assist with the closing and negotiation, as necessary. In general, the process is more complicated than onboarding agents since you need to agree to overrides and manage to bring over their hierarchies. We have a template of what we will use to onboard the agency below, but in general, we will follow the steps below.
- Top of Hierarchy completes the New Sub-Agency Onboarding Form: This form will notify your account manager who will jump in to coordinate a formal agreement between Spark, you, and the downline agency. We can also help close the agency if you need our sales teams’ assistance! If you need help completing the form, email your account manager.
- Sign the 3-way agreement: Once levels are finalized for the new agency, Spark will send you the agreement for review, and after you sign, it will automatically be sent to your downline agency.
- Start contracting: Send your downline your contracting form to formally request carriers so our contracting team can send links and work on getting the agency ready-to-sell.
- Note: we default to starting the intent-to-transfer process. If agents have releases, they can provide them in the form or send them afterwards to accelerate the transfer time.

Ready-to-sell chase
- Spark onboards to the Platform. Spark will continue the steps as we would for a street-level agent which includes sending the agency links to helpful tools and training events. If you would like Spark to conduct an onboarding kickoff session with the new agency principal and their core team, just request that from your Account Manager.
Dedicated Agency Onboarding Support
For agencies with 3+ agents and over 250+ enrollments expected, Spark offers dedicated onboarding support to ensure the agency is properly set up and given contracting and platform support. If you are unsure if someone qualifies for an onboarding meeting with Spark, reach out to your account manager for a discussion.
Note: Not all sub-agencies require dedicated onboarding support from Spark, regardless of size. If you do not wish to proceed with a dedicated onboarding, simply complete the steps below and note in the form you do not need Spark’s support in onboarding.
If you do wish to leverage Spark’s team, your account manager will work with you to schedule a kick-off call with the Agency Principal of the new sub-agency and your account manager to discuss:
- Spark’s support model
- How to work with Spark vs You (the upline agency)
- Spark platform training
- Detailed review of contracting instructions

Our generic contracting link
If you would like to add a new contract directly under Spark, we will direct you to complete Spark’s contracting link which includes all Spark-supported carriers. The link is also directly available in your Platform and will auto-fill your information.
Understand transfer protocols
It’s easy to get lost in the details of how to add new carrier contracts, transfer existing contracts, and find certifications. You can view our contracting cheat sheet if you need the information quickly.

Supporting with release letters
Agents should complete the contracting link to start transfers immediately. Do not wait for the release to complete the link or it will further delay their transfer should their release request be rejected.
